1. 100% Local Browser Execution
CompressGIF operates entirely within your web browser using WebAssembly. When you drag and drop or select a GIF file, it is read into your local browser memory.
Your image files are never uploaded to our servers, never stored in any cloud storage, and never accessible to us or any third party.
2. Local Storage
We use temporary client-side browser storage solely to remember your chosen theme or interface preferences.
3. Analytics & Cookies
We use Google Analytics 4, operated by Google LLC, to understand aggregate usage: page views, referring websites, approximate country, and device or browser type. GA4 sets first-party cookies (for example _ga) to recognise returning browsers. We also record aggregate tool events: selected mode, input and output byte counts, processing outcome, and downloads. File names, image contents and raw error messages are not included.
You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings at any time, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on; the GIF compressor keeps working normally either way. Visitors in the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland have analytics storage disabled by default and no analytics cookies are stored until consent is given.
